An open door to...

If you could open a door to anywhere, where would you go?

  • a lounge chair on the beach in Mexico, with the sun shining and a soft breeze blowing
  • my own bookstore, with big comfy armchairs to relax in, and a quiet little coffee shop to get a skim mocha
  • a park with a tall swing set to almost fly on, and lush grass to lay in and daydream
  • a window seat on an airplane early in the morning, just breaking through the clouds to catch the sun as it rises
  • Angie's bedroom at 4 years old, skating on her hardwood floors in our Fisher-Price adjustable rollerskates
  • a church filled with worship music being played on electric guitars and a grand piano
  • the NCAA championship basketball game, with the Badgers ahead by 4, with 5 seconds left
  • Yahara golf course, front 9 of the west course, with the team from senior year
  • my childhood bedroom, complete with the painting of a big green frog under a rainbow
  • the top of the Eiffel Tower, on Bastille Day
  • my bed, with freshly washed bright white sheets, pulled tight with no wrinkles
  • Home.

Where would you go?

For anyone who might stumble upon my blog tonight, rather than reading mine, I'd ask that you instead look at this one tonight. The Smith family needs your attention, and prayer much more than I do right now.

What an amazing story of faith, and an example we should all be humble enough to learn from.

Please be in prayer for Todd and Angie Smith, their girls Ellie, Abby, Kate, and the recently passed into heaven Audrey.
