"Uyimbube, uyimbube..."

...or is it "A-wimoweh, a-wimoweh"?

You probably don't know who Hank Mendress is, but I'm sure you've sung along with him on plenty of occasions. Mendress, who sang vocals with The Tokens, who sang "The Lion Sleeps Tonight," died of lung cancer on Sunday.

In his honor, the complete lyrics to "The Lion Sleeps Tonight":
A-wimoweh, a-wimoweh (8x)

In the jungle,
the mighty jungle,
the lion sleeps tonight.
In the jungle,
the quiet jungle,
the lion sleeps tonight.
A-wimoweh, a-wimoweh (8x)

Near the village,
the peaceful village,
the lion sleeps tonight.
Near the village,
the quiet village,
the lion sleeps tonight.

A-wimoweh, a-wimoweh (8x)

Hush my darling,
don't fear my darling,
the lion sleeps tonight.
Hush my darling,
don't fear my darling,
the lion sleeps tonight.

A-wimoweh, a-wimoweh (8x)

We-de-de-de
De-de-de-de-de
De-we-um-um-a-way
We-de-de-de
De-de-de-de-de
We-um-um-a-way
